I like it. :good:
Here are some tracks that I would love to get IDed:
PS: My 100th post!
Unknown Record (17).wma is viewtopic.php?f=8&t=254&hilit=disco+del+mar
The first one is a remix of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana. Unfortinatley, I don’t know who did it, but there is a bootleg vinyl called “A Little Bit Of This”, that credits it was done by Norm himself, but I don’t think so
Unknown Record (1).mp3 – I’m guessing it’s Flatback 4 – Song 3
Unknown Record (5).mp3 – Norm sampled this record in “Song For Shelter”.
Unknown Record (7).mp3 – I’m sure it’s Princess Diana – Da Funk, a remake of the Daft Punk Tune.
I’ll listen to more of the MP3’s to see if I can figure them all out.
A great piece of disco :good: . Glad you like the Howlin’ label.
Absolutely incredible. :good:, Kudos also to Scanty for lending you the samples. :gig:
Thank You!!!
The Unklejam track in your mix brings back happy memories of the day I saw Mr. Cook himself in 2007. He played that track and did 80’s style robot dancing (see: http://www.normancook.info/blog/index.php?2007/10/05/595-fatboy-slim-live-oxfam-oxjam-music-festival-london-uk-4-oct-2007). Great mix Ahmed! :good:
Bump!
PS: I forgot to mention, does anyone have any tracks from his amazing Fried Funk Project (I Heard “The Real Shit” on the Brit-Hop and Amyl House CD, and was impressed).
Yes!!! :yes2:
Great track reccomendation Ahmed :good: . It’s got a really great bassline. Thanks :good:
The track is “A Milli” by Lil’ Wayne (a mainstream US rap artist), and it samples A Tribe Called Quest’s “I left My Wallet In El Segundo” (Vampire Remix), that was produced by Norman. The sample used is the “A milli, billi, bum” slowed down and made to just “A milli-milli-a-a-lilli” etc.
I wonder if the people who did “A Milli” paid for sample clearance?
Welcome to the forums Tim. You are an excellent DJ and your mixes are great. :good:
