      Evenin’ all…

      Well…I survived.

Unbelievable night, Fatboy was quality, Jon Carter destroyed the crowd afterwards…nice to catch up with the old faces and Lee La Roc deserves a MASSIVE big-up for organising it all…and destroying the dancefloor when he played…

I remember very little but I will endevour to list as many memories as I can…then hopefully (provided it wasn’t just bollocks) anyone else who went can help piece it together.

I know I heard (from Fatboy):

Freestylers – Breaker Beats (Part 1)
      Scanty Sandwich – Slam Dunk
Fatboy Slim Vs Gorillaz – Dirty Gangster

I’m pretty sure I heard (from Fatboy):

Wildchild – Renegade Master (Fatboy Slim Old Skool Remix)
Stretch & Vern – I’m Alive (Fatboy Slim Remix)

      More will come to me…don’t worry… :D

          Hey Rory,

Did you know your track was on the new Skint Podcast? Admittedly it’s a remix but hey, it’s a from the Skint HQ regardless!

I’d find out who Smash Mouth’s DJ is/was around the time of that release, then look for psyeudonyms and aliases of him/her…

Perhaps even look down the releases on the same label, any kind of white label using his/her name of variations of it…

Damn I miss digging around in record shops…

              Hey,

I’m sure there’s a few out there, somewhere but mostly it went to people who knew Norman personally.

Try getting in touch with the skint crew on Myspace or discogs, maybe you’ll have some luck there.

I’m pretty sure we’ve discussed this tune a while ago haven’t we!?

Don’t suppose you’ve got a ‘Slash Dot Dash’ instrumental or Beastie Boys ‘Intergalactic’ Acappella have you?

                Hey DCDJ,

#2 was a promo sent out to Skint & Southern Fried Artists around the time of a football tournament a while back, Norman distributed it himself.

No idea on the first one though, sounds very 1998/99 big beat era though.

It’s a dialogue sample from the film ‘Moulin Rouge’…which the track ‘BWC’ is on the Soundtrack.

                        Hi Rory,

I’m pretty sure it’s on the ‘Into Battle EP’ by ‘2 Fat Buddhas Vs Fathead’ on Freskanova Records, either ‘Wheel ‘Em In’ or ‘Electro Chocolate’ (I think it’s the latter as the first revolves around an ‘Every One’s A Winner’ sample)…

I have the vinyl for sale at £2.86 here… http://www.discogs.com/sell/item/6163625?ev=bp_titl

The Temper Trap – Science Of Fear (Herve’s Dub Mix)
Fatboy Slim – Fucking In Heaven (Acappella Tool)

Fatboy Slim – Right Here, Right Now (Abel Ramos’ ‘To Brighton With Love’ Remix)

Natural Born Chillers – Rock The Funky Beats (Unknown Remix)

This one is surfacing following the WMC 2009 in Miami and had been played a few times over the season in Ibiza so no doubt it’ll surface in the next few months, not bad as far as ‘Electro’ remixes go though.

There’s a few different versions on Youtube etc at the moment, none match this remix exactly though.

                          Video 4 =

                                The Track you’re after is:

That Kid Chris – Big Time

It samples ‘Oye Como Va’ by Tito Puente, people often mistake it for a different record or a remix or even the original but it’s definately this record.

I have it for sale if you’re interested, just PM me for details.

I was actually there! This was ages ago @ The Boutique night @ The Concorde II in Brighton, He came on to his remix of ‘Happy’ by Max Sedgley, waving a bottle of Vodka and that Chicken round his head…

Great find, great night, great memories!
