Sorry mate,
I don’t know that one…
D
@ Surfacetoair,
No idea mate, I have it on good authority that it was a release on the Freskanova Record Label…the clip you’ve posted is actually one of my ‘Unknown Record’ clips isn’t it? I’ve been after this tune for years…

Hi dja,
Thanks for responding! :yes2:
It’s not that I’m after the tunes on Kahuna Cuts, I just thought that between all of us we’d be able to identify loads of tunes Norman used to play back in the day!
If you got here & download mine & Rory’s ‘Unknown Records’ – viewtopic.php?f=8&t=384 you might be able to ID some from that Compilation you’ve got…
Thanks again!!

This really is pitiful…Nobody seems to care about finding new music any more :banghead:
Basically I figured that loads of people always ask for random tunes Norm used to cain back in the day, if we all looked into certain labels that he was a major fan of I almost guarantee we’d find at least a few ‘Unknown Records’ from the 90’s…
For instance, I know that Norman was a huge fan of Freskanova, Urban Takeover and Kahuna Cuts releases during the Big Beat Hayday…
None of you newbies are pulling your weight, it can’t all be left to the usual suspects…

Hi Rory,
I think it’s this – http://www.discogs.com/release/1058565
I’m toying with the idea of purchasing but don’t love it yet…
D
Hey Woka,
Are you after anything else I can help you with? I think I’ve covered everything…
D
Hehe,
No problem mate, slowly the word is spreading about ‘Darko & His bottomless box of Top Quality Tunes’…
I look forward to hearing from more of you soon…
D
Hi Bigbeat,
I’ve got your requested ‘Punjeke Yeke’ track here on vinyl:
Ahmed,
As far as I understand it, it’s just another term for ‘Remix’…
Whereas Dub’s tend to be missing vocals or completely different sounding ‘Bassy’ versions of the original track, Re-Rubs tend to be much the same as remixes.

It’s all open to interpritation, I’m sure others will have a different explanation…

Hi Sully,
Thanks for the shot, the #10 one is a mashup of ‘The Roof..’ and something else so it’s the title of the white label I’m after, not the original version.
The Last one is listed as ‘Real Rap Superstar’ by Cold Steel but I can’t find any reference to that band/artist or that title of record anywhere so I reckon is a misinformed guess…
After all, for years people thought that ‘Slam Dunk’ by Scanty Sandwich was ‘Stick’em’ by The Bassbin Twins because people don’t hear either track properly, latch onto a sample and then presume its a certain record…
So, if anyone knows of any Rockmaster Scott mash-ups or of anything to do with the ‘Cold Steel’ info or the ‘Real Rap Superstar’ sample…
Get in touch…
:banghead:
