        OK Darko !!
All what we an said thats
That the original of that sound is:
        Slick – Space Bass http://www.divshare.com/download/5968954-635
The words of that track are from:
        Hardknox – Fire like this
And it is the Freskanova Label Record 1998-1999 y.

          Surfacetoair,

Nope, I don’t have Soulseek either I’m afraid, I’m old school!

Right, obviously the track we’re looking for samples ‘Space Bass’ by Slick and a vocal sample used by Hardknox on ‘Fire Like Dis’…

Though you need to be aware that the track we’re looking for might not have sampled those particular records as, like everything back in 1998 / 1999, they are made up of samples themselves.

Contrary to popular belief, modern artists don’t sample modern artists very often, they seek out the original samples (often 60’s 70’s & 80’s records) and use them so chances are the ‘Fire Like Dis’ sample came from something much older than the Hardknox track…

The record might have been released on Freskanova Records but thats only a tip from a friend and not 100% gospel truth – the only way you’ll know if thats true or not is to pay out some money and buy the Freska back catalogue eh?

Does anyone have the 12″ or an MP3 of either of these:

Gene Farris – Time & Space
            http://www.discogs.com/release/19447

            or

            Disco Elements – Volume 6
            http://www.discogs.com/release/40858

They both sample ‘Space Bass’ by Slick and are based in 1998/1999

Well it’s definately not that one then, I got an email back from Freddy Fresh which said the following:

                “Hi Man
pretty sure this is just a blend of two songs and probably was made by a DJ to play out maybe exists on CD or acetate but doubt its on any commercially available 12
                Good Luck!!”

So, hopefully it’ll be that Gene Farris one

                        Surfacetoair,

Sorry mate, I don’t hear any resemblance at all!

Hehe, maybe the beats sound similar but not enough to make me think we’re looking for a remix or anything…

I know that ‘Back to 99’ was a standalone track made by the Freestylers for the Rough Technique compilation and wasn’t released as a single.
