Hi everyone,
Two songs here that I’ve been looking for AGES for.
#1: [mp3:3re8qbcz]http://www.dcdj.co.uk/tuneid.mp3[/mp3:3re8qbcz]
#2: [mp3:3re8qbcz]http://www.dcdj.co.uk/tuneid2.mp3[/mp3:3re8qbcz]
Thanks!
:)
Hey DCDJ,
#2 was a promo sent out to Skint & Southern Fried Artists around the time of a football tournament a while back, Norman distributed it himself.
No idea on the first one though, sounds very 1998/99 big beat era though.

Hi Darko,
Thanks for the info. So I guess there is no way to get a good quality copy of the #2 promo?
Thanks.
Hey,
I’m sure there’s a few out there, somewhere but mostly it went to people who knew Norman personally.
Try getting in touch with the skint crew on Myspace or discogs, maybe you’ll have some luck there.
I’m pretty sure we’ve discussed this tune a while ago haven’t we!?
Don’t suppose you’ve got a ‘Slash Dot Dash’ instrumental or Beastie Boys ‘Intergalactic’ Acappella have you?

The second track could be a lost Norman Cook track – maybe an unreleased Mighty Dub Katz or Pizzaman Tune, as it uses the same “You Gotta Just Keep It Rollin'” sample later used on Song For Shelter.
I wish I knew what the first tune was, as soon as I heard it – I thought it was just :yahoo:
Hi Rory,
I do know that the #1 tune samples Smash Mouth’s “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby”

Maybe it could be a remix?
I’d find out who Smash Mouth’s DJ is/was around the time of that release, then look for psyeudonyms and aliases of him/her…
Perhaps even look down the releases on the same label, any kind of white label using his/her name of variations of it…
Damn I miss digging around in record shops…
