…is not to try grab the people that already have all this stuff.
I’m speaking in a personal capacity here, but the whole point of these re-release packages is to catch the people that never got around to buying the album AND a bunch of the singles (and hence the B sides and the like) the first time around.
Yes, we realise that anyone who’s a big fan of FBS recordings is likely to have all the things on the 2nd CD already – so there’s not a big reason for them to buy the 10th Ann package (although I did argue for having alternative/unreleased versions on it, but then I’m a record collecting geek at heart!)
Marketing is a funny old world, and not something I try to get too involved in (I did put the 2nd CD together though, just to make sure it was vaguely right)

Fatboard Slims,
Just thought I’d say, initially I was somewhat sceptical of this 10 year anniversary release, but my copy has ‘amazoned’ its way through the post this morning, and i gotta say, its pretty damn cool. go for the ltd version, as it comes in nice sleeve with the bonus tracks disc. A definite for the collectors out there fo’ sho!
All we need now is earlier Norman Cook alias retrospectives ;)
I appreciate some of them haven’t really got the material to carry a full CD, and there is that cool Southern Fried House compliation knocking about, but what about a Feelgood Factor collection (on CD for the first time) :)
