Fatboy Slim rocked the Olympics closing ceremony last night – then tweeted this picture and the words: ‘Bless this Olympic (Acid) House!’
The DJ, who lives in Portslade, performed after comedian Russell Brand had arrived on a psychedelic tour bus performing Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and The Beatles’ I Am The Walrus with string quartet Bond.
The bus transformed into a fluorescent 50m octopus as Fatboy Slim rose from its head, spinning his decks as dancers performed to his hits Right Here, Right Now and The Rockafeller Skank.
Speaking to The Argus this morning, the DJ said he had to keep quiet about the event for about eight months.
He described the atmosphere in the stadium and backstage as “fantastic” and said there was no egos from the all-star cast in preparing for the big night.
He said: “It was absolutely amazing.
“It was an honour to represent my country, it was a fantastic atmosphere in the stadium and backstage and I thought the show went really well.
“It was great to be picked to represent Team GB in djing and the club culture era.”
