Hi All…
Well, what a…mediocre set…nothing new really.
Don’t get me wrong, it was a blinding party and all that but where are the new groundbreaking club bangers? Where are the trademark Norm-isms that we’ve come to expect from Mr Cook??
Where was this special ‘Brighton’ tune he was making/re-editing for this gig??
Playing the Stray Cats’ ‘Rumble in Brighton’ like he did last time doesn’t tick that box for me…
I can only speak for myself but I’m a little disappointed…
D
Track 10 is ‘Body Crash’ by Buy Now but I forget which mix…
D
15 is the Thomas Andersson – ‘Washing Up’ (Tim Deluxe Remix) Vs The BPA – ‘He’s Frank’

@ Darko, i think we are several fans to be disapointed, no surprise, no new material, a sort of classic tracklist , very frustrating for maybe the last fbs gig of this year ;-( …
(The drama is increase for those who were not there and listen the set with the (irritating) several jingles and advert from SouthernFM Radio LOL )….
Agree with Darko.
Yesterday was a great day out in the sun, but the mixing was very disappointing, and too many weak/old tunes, it seemed to just fizzle out at the end – I think they should stick with the club dj approach rather than the party dj approach.
Have to agree with Darko and Monkey,it was disappointing,I was really hoping to hear something like his set from Space recently,i know i only heard 27 mins off it but it sounded well good.
Also big thanks to Francis for uploading last nights set.
well what can i say, same old norman cook set for the last 12 months, i think if i was there and drunk i would of love it but listening to the rip by francis (thanks by the way) it just feels dull and boring & not exciting like the good old days and thats view of the BBB4
To be honest I was hammered by the time FBS came on (£3.50 for a can of lager? WTF??) and still thought it was crap. For me the party-style works during the day when everyone is more chilled and enjoying the sunshine but when it gets dark you want to hear the big tunes without the stage acts/djs arseing around so much. As I said, great day out, just went a bit flat for the last hour or so.
It´s the 2008 classic set.
Norman thinks as Roger Federer: “I´m #1 so why try harder”
Take care…
was kinda epecting most of these tunes anyway. but the atmosphere was really amazing. just remember Monkey,ACIDFUNK,Darko. norman was playing to 20,000 people.he’s hardly goin to be doing an underground club set. even layo & bushwacka partyed it up, and their usally very underground. danny tenaglia was the worst on the day. beardyman was interesting tho.
I was’nt expecting Norman to play i total underground set,and of course He is gonna play the big party favourites and we all love him for that, but a few new tunes into the mix would have been nice.
Thanks Francis for recording and sharing! I just read that there will be an exclusive BPA-track available at The Argus newspaper’s website:
http://www.theargus.co.uk/news/3709231.The_Norman_Conquest___Fatboy_s_triumphant_return/
is there going to be a DVD or CD does anyone know?
reseed link 4 set ! PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
As most will know, I already had my say about the set, on the main board. I think we all agree that it was just Normans usual set for this year. I think we have to realise that it was a Party and not a CLUB . As all will know, Norman delivers a great club set, but when it comes to these big events he sticks a more safe set. Nothing wrong with that, it’s only the die hard fans that feel let down.
Where can I still download this set? Please? Is there something available without the commercials in between. So just the FULL set. We were there – came over from Belgium – and loved it. love to see it appear on dvd or cd as a memory. But that aint gonna happen I’m afraid. So the next best thing: Where can I download this full set? Thanks a lot!
Here is a re-up of the set. It does have the commercials as it is the version originally posted in the first message of this post.
